We are a comprehensive bilingual (English/Spanish) program designed and dedicated to the holistic development of your child in a personal and responsive family environment. The MGRI Kindergarten is part of the primary Montessori program that is designed as a three-year cycle. The third year, or Montessori kindergarten year, is when all the learning that has taken place in the previous two years reaches fruition and a child’s knowledge begins to fall into place.
Kindergarten is the culmination of the Early Childhood program. Children exhibit the independence, critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership that they have been practicing during their previous years in the Early Childhood classroom, exercising them independently as they prepare to transition into an Elementary program. Kindergarteners are introduced to progressively more advanced concepts that slowly solidify and become permanent knowledge. Kindergarteners feel and grasp their own growth as they watch others learn information they have mastered themselves.
Children enrolling in kindergarten must reside in the Florida State and be five (5) years old on or before September 1st of the school year in which they are enrolling.
Kindergarteners enrolled in a private school must meet the state attendance requirements: a minimum of 460 hours per year, and daily attendance of minimum 3 hours.
Assessment & Achievement
The Montessori Record (MRx) and MAP Growth are used for assessment, data management, and reporting system that provides national and local performance and growth norms for the screening and progress monitoring of math and language arts skills for all children, including the Kindergarteners. The MGRI assigned faculty administers short, consistent, and reliable assessments using the following scale.
