Mrs. Rana Dawoud
 Montessori Global Primary Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Rana Dawoud was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq where she lived with her beloved family. Her entire family moved to the United States in 2012. She is married to a wonderful man and minister of God and together they have a beautiful little girl named Lilly, who is also currently enrolled in Montessori Global Research Institute.

In Baghdad Mrs. Rana Dawoud received her bachelor’s degree in Biology, and when she moved to the states she went to college in Michigan for Teaching. Mrs. Dawoud worked as a Montessori Teacher in a preprimary program for three years. She then moved to Florida in March of 2019.

Mrs. Dawoud is extremely grateful for her family that she and her husband have made; just to show her affection towards them and to see them happy is enough for her. She is so joyful that God granted her the opportunity to become Lilly’s mother! She and her family enjoy comedy movies, cooking, and travelling in the state of Florida.

She has also completed a college level Psychology and Anatomy class and is planning to continue taking classes to further her education.   Lauren has worked in healthcare for five years as both a CNA and Receptionist, serving the seniors in our community and is excited to be serving our community in a new way and learn the Montessori method of teaching. She has done research on creating and implementing brain stimulating activities for the mentally impaired and disabled and enjoys helping people of all walks learn new ways to benefit their way of life.  With seven pets all rescued or fostered at home, it’s clear Lauren’s passions are hospitality, care, and rehabilitation- and she looks forward to a new journey at Montessori Global Research Institute!

Ms. Latoya Barkum
Montessori Global Primary Assistant
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself. My name is Ms. Latoya Barkum, I am 36 years old, and I am a native of Los Angeles California. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education, from the great Bethune-Cookman University, where I also earned a certification in TESOL. I have over 15 years of experience as being both teacher and student in the educational world. Including, but not limited to; being accepted into and completing a year of a MATESOL program at Hawaii Pacific University, teacher mentorship and training at a private school in South Korea, leading and instructing a middle school autistic classroom here in DeLand, FL, to a startup project of curriculum design for a charter school in Ghana.

As a highly compassionate and approachable teaching professional, I plan to assist our student’s development by facilitating and presenting lessons for learners of all styles. Having knowledge and access to a vast variety of resources and materials I plan to integrate and accommodate students via visual audio, tactical and kinesthetic Montessori methods.

My goal is to foster and maintain an open, honest, communicative and supportive classroom, in which each student feels safe, secure, special and respected.

My prayer is that you see tremendous growth in your child within my care.
