We are a comprehensive bilingual (English/Spanish) program designed and dedicated to the holistic development of your child in a personal and responsive family environment. The MGRI Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is part of the primary Montessori program. The MGRI VPK Program is designed to provide high-quality educational experiences to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-old children.
MGRI VPK program
Our VPK program is built on the Montessori curriculum to prepare children in all five of the developmental domains that are critical to children’s overall well-being and success in reading and math as they enter school:
- Approaches to play and learning
- Emotional and social development
- Health and Physical Development
- Language development and communication
- Cognitive development
The MGRI VPK program is designed to ensure that a high-quality pre-kindergarten classroom experience is provided for eligible four-year-old children.
MGRI staff meet education/licensure requirements, professional development; 1:9 staff/child ratio; developmental screens and referral; evidence-based curriculum and formative assessments; monitoring and nutritional requirements.
To be enrolled in the MGRI VPK program a child must live in Florida and be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the current school year to be eligible. If their fourth birthday falls Feb. 2 through Sept. 1 in a calendar year, parents can postpone enrolling their child in VPK that year and wait until the following year when their child is 5.
